Chapter 12
In chapter twelve of Jimmy Santiago Baca’s A Place to Stand, Baca is getting more and more in touch with his inner writer. After he expresses his aspirations of being a poet, Nick gives him Russian literature. Afterward, Baca starts experiencing outer body travels, which keep him sane. Baca to adjust to his prison lifestyle. He now thinks of it as a home, he even starts to refer to his cell as a womb.
