Chapter 3
In chapter three of Jimmy Santiago Baca’s A Place to Stand, Baca is seeking for a new life. Baca tries to find himself through travel and adventure. He moves from Albuquerque to California, where he works as a plumber. Baca and Marcos began selling weed to support themselves after Baca lost his plumbing job. He also meets Lonnie, a girl who shows Baca that he can love after Theresa’s breakup.
